At Lessiter Media, urgency has been a recent topic of discussion. During our company-wide Lunch ‘n Learn on June 16, teams discussed how timeliness in communication and action can lead to faster sales cycles, earlier commitments, stronger business relationships and, ultimately, better results for our audiences and customers.
One of the key takeaways was that urgency isn’t about creating pressure for its own sake. It’s about recognizing opportunities when they’re in front of us and acting while interest is at its peak. Whether you’re communicating with readers, sponsors, advertisers or prospects, delays can mean missed opportunities and slower growth.
The same principle applies to marketing. Effective urgency helps audiences understand why they should act now rather than put off a decision. When used authentically, urgency can increase engagement, improve conversion rates and help marketers deliver better outcomes with less last-minute scrambling.
Below are several ways marketers can incorporate urgency into their campaigns without sacrificing trust or credibility.
