JPG and pixel are pretty common terms in marketing, but do you know what rastor means? What about vector? Do you know what DPI or PPI stand for and why they're important?
As a marketer it can be confusing and sometimes feel like graphic designers are speaking a different language with some of the terminology used.
And while it may be tricky to pick up on some of these things when you don't work with design programs every day, they are important when it comes to designing quality pieces.
Like most things in the business world, communication is the key to efficient and effective graphic design. If you aren't sure what a designer needs, ask them. It will save both of you time and cut down on unnecessary back and forth and extra rounds of edits.
Bottom line, the more high-quality materials and clear direction you can provide upfront, the fewer questions you will be asked in return and the better the end product will be.
And if you haven't googled "DPI" and "PPI" yet to find out what they stand for, check out the infographic below to learn more about these and other tips on what you can provide your design team to get the best results for your creative.
